Klara: from Slovenian campsite to Campercontact
Klara, 26 years old, was born and raised in Slovenia and moved four months ago to Den Bosch, where she now lives with her boyfriend. ‘The move to the Netherlands is quite an adventure in itself,’ Klara smiles. ‘I’m currently biking my way around, learning the Dutch lifestyle, eating sandwiches for lunch, and even trying to understand the language by reading children’s books.’
Her path to Campercontact was quite spontaneous. While working as a reception and back-office manager at a campsite in Slovenia, Klara happened to meet Tom. ‘During our conversation I jokingly mentioned that I might move to the Netherlands but would still need a job. A few months later, here I am—working at Campercontact as a sales representative and customer success manager.’
Understanding owners from the inside out
With her experience at a campsite, Klara knows exactly what many motorhome site managers go through. ‘In my previous role, I was in the same shoes as the people I now speak to every day. That helps me to really understand their struggles, questions, and daily challenges. It feels good to use that knowledge to help them make the most of Campercontact.’
Working in a new country and team can be a challenge, but Klara feels right at home. ‘The welcoming team makes everything so much easier. I also value the flexibility of working remotely—it allows me to regularly visit my family and friends back home.’
Strong connections give energy
What Klara sometimes misses is the direct contact with guests. That’s why visiting locations remains one of her favorite parts of the job. ‘When I was in Slovenia visiting family, I also dropped by a few motorhome sites. Sharing stories, seeing the locations in action, and making strong connections gave me so much energy. That’s what I really enjoy.’
Her passion for travel started young. ‘Since I was 16, I’ve been working in campsites. I’ve also had family holidays in the Balkans and even a camper trip with girlfriends around Slovenia—though we managed to lose a mirror on the way,’ she laughs.
Exploring everywhere
When it comes to travel dreams, Klara doesn’t have a single ultimate destination. ‘I want to go everywhere. I love skiing in the mountains, hiking in nature, or simply lying on the beach with a book. For me, the company and the food matter more than the exact place.’
Helping owners succeed
In her role, Klara focuses on making life easier for site owners. ‘I always try to be myself and honest. Owners are usually busy with their guests, and that’s exactly how it should be. My job is to help them get the most out of Campercontact with as little extra effort as possible.
Expanding bookable locations across Europe is my goal, even in places that may not be in high demand. I love seeing growth. Every time a location I onboarded gets their very first booking, I get excited. It shows the impact we can make together.’
